Kenji Hirata, R.I.P. Piece for Dj Klock

Terri Dowell Dennis, Curator of Education's Call for Student Volunteers
Large exhibition spaces can provide unqiue challenges and opportunities for artists; something they tend to get very excited about. Artists centered organizations, like the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art, not having a collection, thus have the priviledge and responsibility to constantly reinvent themselves. They can be as creative and inventive as they wish to be.
Â
One of the last exhibitions at SECCA before it became a state institution, SITEings featured a revolving door of artists over a 6-month period who created new site-specific wall works in various galleries. The exhibition unfolded over time and included the work of Sol LeWitt, Kenji Hirata, Eleana Herzog, Ricky Needham and Laura Ashley, Mark Dean Veca, and others.Â
